Procedure For Horn That Activates Intermittently

If your machine has a horn that activates intermittently, inspect the horn wire for any damage. Repair any damage. Apply heat shrink tubing (1) to the outside diameter of the wire.

Apply 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant (2) to the outside diameter of the button of the horn in order to prevent the entry of water.Procedure For Horn That Sounds Constantly
If the horn sounds constantly, inspect the horn wire for damage. Repair any damage. Apply heat shrink tubing (1) to the outside diameter of the wire. Refer to Illustration 1.
Verify that the fix for the wire for the horn eliminates the horn from sounding constantly. Apply 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant (2) to the outside diameter of the button of the horn in order to prevent the entry of water. Refer to Illustration 2.
If Steps 1 and 2 do not fix the problem, a new 176-9166 Column Assembly will be required. When you install the new column, apply sealant to the horn button.
