Install thrust disc (3) and roller bearing (2) onto shaft assembly (1) as shown in Illustration 3. Ensure roller bearing (2) is seated properly.Note: The bearing should be heated to 132° C (270 ° F).

Install seal ring (D) onto shaft assembly (1). Refer to Illustration 4.

Bearing outer race installation

Install bearing outer race (4) into transmission case (F). Ensure bearing outer race (4) is seated properly in bore (E). Refer to Illustration 5.Note: The race should be cooled to −40° C (−40° F)Note: 8E-5157 Bearing Outer Race replaces 170-1807 Race Bearing for 286-9049 Transmission Case assembly.
