Turn impeller (18) over. Install eight bolts (19) .
Tighten eight bolts (19) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Place converter impeller (18) into position on the converter housing.
Install 24 bolts (17) . Tighten 24 bolts (17) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Raise the temperature of bearing (16) and seal carrier (15) .
Install bearing (16) and seal carrier (15) on stator carrier (10) .

Install retaining ring (13) .
Install seal ring (14) .

Lower the temperature of outer bearing race (12) . Install outer bearing race (12) .

Install stator carrier (10) in the torque converter.
Install two O-ring seals (11) .

Install bearing (9) and retaining ring (8) on output shaft (6) .
Install two seal rings (7) on output shaft (6) .

Install output shaft (6) in the stator carrier through the center of the torque converter assembly.

Turn the torque converter over. place a small piece of lead between output shaft (6) and retainer (4) . Install the bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 N m (90 lb in).
Remove the bolts and retainer (4) .
Measure the thickness of the lead to find the distance between the output shaft and the retainer.
Use shims as required between the output shaft and the retainer to provide a shim thickness of 0.025 to 0.076 mm (0.0010 to 0.0030 inch) less than the measured gap.

Install shims (49) and retainer (4) on the end of the output shaft.

Install two bolts (3) that hold retainer (4) to the output shaft. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Install cover (2) . Install eight bolts (1) . Tighten eight bolts (1) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Attach Tooling (A) a suitable lifting device to the torque converter. The weight of the torque converter is approximately 110 kg (245 lb).
Turn the torque converter over so that the output shaft is facing upwards. Remove Tooling (A) .End By: Connect the torque converter to the torque converter updrive gears housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter Updrive Gears - Assemble".
