Brake light system component connectionsThe Machine ECM will monitor the pressure in the brake system using the Brake System Pressure Sensor. When the pressure in the system is greater than 500 kPa (72.5 psi), the ECM will turn ON the sinking driver for the Brake Light Relay. The active sinking driver will allow system voltage to be directed to the rear brake lights.If the left armrest is in the raised position, the ECM will not energize the Brake Light Relay when the brake pedal is pressed. The armrest position switch is connected to the Switch Panel. The condition of all transducers attached to the Switch Panel is monitored by the Machine ECM. The CAN B data link is the communication link between the Switch Panel and the Machine ECM.When the service brake is initially locked, the ECM will turn ON the output for the brake relay. The Brake System Pressure Sensor is used to determine if the brake is in the locked position. After 20 seconds, the ECM will turn OFF the output for the relay. The ECM will resume normal brake light operation when the Brake System Pressure Sensor indicates that the brake is no longer locked.
