Start By:
Release the system pressure.
Remove the temperature sensor (DPF Inlet, SCR Inlet).
Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

Remove bolts (1) and panel assembly (2).
Repeat for the opposite side.

Attach a suitable lifting device to hood (3). The weight of hood (3) is approximately 32 kg (75 lb).
Remove bolts (4) and hood (3).

Disconnect hose assembly (5) and harness assembly (6).
Remove bolt (7) and disconnect hose assemblies (8).

Disconnect soot sensors (9) and inlet nitrogen oxide sensor (10).

Disconnect outlet nitrogen oxide sensor (11).

Loosen clamp assembly (12) and disconnect the exhaust tube.

Remove bolts (13). Repeat for the remaining bolts.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to clean emission control module (14). The weight of clean emission control module is approximately 86 kg (190 lb).
Remove clean emission module (14).Installation Procedure
Install clean emission module (14) in the reverse order of removal.Note: Ensure that clamp assembly (12) is centered on the joint.
Tighten clamp assembly (12) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of outlet nitrogen oxide sensor (11).
Tighten outlet nitrogen oxide sensor (11) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of inlet nitrogen oxide sensor (10).
Tighten inlet nitrogen oxide sensor (10) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Tighten soot sensors (9) to a torque of 1.2 0.2 N m (11 2 lb in).
