This circuit is used to aid the engine in starting during cold weather below 0 °C (32 °F).After the starter switch (11) is moved to the ON position, voltage is supplied to the starting aid switch. When the starting aid switch (27) is placed in the ON position, the starting aid solenoid will be energized. The solenoid will supply a metered amount of ether to the engine.When the temperature of the engine coolant increases to 38 °C (100 °F) or a higher temperature, the engine coolant temperature switch is opened in order to block current flow to the starting aid solenoid. Ether will not flow to the engine when the starting aid solenoid is not energized. In this case, even if the starting aid switch is in the ON position, the solenoid will not be energized and ether will not flow to the engine.
