Identification #(s)Attached to July 16, 2005 Service LetterRework ProcedureThis rework requires removal of the ParkingBrake and Drive Shaft Carrier Bearing to gain access to the 1075008/">107-5008 FrontShaft. Follow the machine?s Disassembly and Assembly in order to preparethe machine for this work. Mark the position of the u-joints and yokesto each other before removal. The u-joints and yokes must be reinstalledin phase to prevent vibration. Strap the front drive shaft yoke to thefront axle to hold the yoke in place to prevent any loss of oil.After replacing the 1075008/">107-5008 Front Shaft, usethe new 234-6681 bolts to reinstall the u-joints to the drive shaft yokes.Tighten the bolts to 150 +/- 15 Nm (110 +/- 11 lbs ft) to close any gapsin the assembly. Tighten the same bolts again, to the same torque of 150+/- 15 Nm (110 +/- 11 lbs ft). This will insure that the bolts are tightenedto specification.After completing the installation of all parts,follow the machine?s Test and Adjust instructions to perform the parkingbrake functional holding test. Adjust the parking brake if required.
