Clean all the parts of the wheel spindle housing, wheel lean arms, tie rod, and steering cylinders prior to installation of the wheel spindle housing. During installation of the wheel spindle housing, check the condition of the seal boots, the washers, the plastic washers, the seals, and the O-rings. Replace damaged parts with new parts. Replace worn parts with new parts.

Apply Tooling (B) to washers (11) to hold washers (11) in the original positions on the leaning arm assembly.
Position a lifting sling around the wheel spindle housing. Secure the sling to a hoist. Use a suitable lifting device to hold the wheel spindle housing (14) level. The weight of the wheel spindle housing is 85 kg (187 lb).
Install O-ring seal (13) and seal (12) in the original positions in wheel spindle housing (14). Install the O-ring and seal (15) in the original position in wheel spindle housing (14).
Apply Tooling (B) onto the mating faces of wheel spindle housing (14) and the wheel lean arm. Guide wheel spindle housing (14) in position into the wheel lean arm.

Lower the temperature of the upper pin and the lower pin. The pins join the wheel spindle housing (14) to the leaning arm assembly. Install the pins to the original locations.

Use Tooling (C) to install pins (16) to a dimension of 2.0 0.5 mm (0.08 0.02 inch) above arm assembly (17).
Repeat Step 1 through Step 7 to install the remaining wheel spindle housing (14).

Apply Tooling (D) to seal boots (6) with. Install seal boots (6) and install washers (7) on socket assemblies (1) and (4).
Position two socket assemblies (1) and (4) in the original locations in the leaning arm assemblies.
Install two nuts (2) on socket assemblies (1) and (4). Use a standard wrench and Tooling (E) to tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 120 N m (89 lb ft). After a torque of 120 N m (89 lb ft) is reached, tighten the nuts until the cotter slots are aligned.
Install cotter pins (3) in the bolts.
After the steering link (5) is installed, the toe-in at the centerline of the front tires must be adjusted. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Axle Toe-In (Front) - Adjust"
for the correct adjustment procedure.End By:
