Parking Brake
Do not engage the parking brake while the machine is moving unless an emergency exists. The use of the parking brake as a service brake in regular operation will cause severe damage to the parking brake system.
Parking Brake - The parking brake is located on the right side of the cab. Parking Brake Engaged - Pull up on the knob to engage the parking brake. Parking Brake Disengaged - Push down on the knob to release the parking brake. The air pressure must be above 450 kPa (65 psi).The parking brake will engage automatically if air pressure drops to 280 kPa (40 psi).When the brake is engaged, the transmission is neutralized.Brake Pedals
Brake On - Depress the left brake pedal to reduce ground speed or to stop the machine. Brake Off - Release the pedal to release the brake. Transmission Neutralizer - Brake On (If Equipped) - Depress the right pedal to brake the machine and disengage the transmission. Transmission Neutralizer - Brake Off (If Equipped) - Release the pedal to release the brake, and reengage the transmission. The machine will move in the direction and speed that was previously set.Accelerator Pedal
Accelerator Pedal - The accelerator pedal is located on the floor of the operator's station, at the right.Push down the pedal to increase the engine speed.Release the pedal to decrease the engine speed. Stop the engine by pulling back on the accelerator pedal.Transmission Direction and Speed Control
Apply the brake pedal before moving the transmission control lever or machine damage can result.
Direction Selector
FORWARD (1) - Push the transmission lever forward. The machine will move forward. NEUTRAL (2) - The machine should not move when transmission lever is in neutral. REVERSE (3) - Pull the transmission lever toward the operator. The machine will move in reverse.Speed Selector
Rotate the transmission lever to the desired gear speed: 1 First Speed2 Second Speed3 Third SpeedTransmission Neutral Lock
Engaged (1) - Pull the transmission neutral lock UP to lock the transmission control lever in NEUTRAL. Released (2) - Push the transmission neutral lock DOWN to unlock the transmission control lever. The lever can be moved to the FORWARD or REVERSE position.Steering Controls
Directional Steering
The directional steering, of the machine, is controlled by the steering wheel. The direction the steering wheel is turned, is the direction that the machine will turn.The steering frame lock must be removed to steer the machine. See Before Starting the Engine for information. Left Turn - Move the steering wheel in a counterclockwise direction to steer the machine, to the left. The farther the steering wheel is turned in a counterclockwise direction the sharper the left turn. Right Turn - Move the steering wheel in a clockwise direction to steer the machine, to the right. The farther the steering wheel is turned in a clockwise direction the sharper the right turn.
