Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger housing (if equipped), which could cause oil coking problems.
Operate the engine for five minutes at low idle with no load.This allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually. This will extend the engine life.

Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position in order to stop the engine.
Move all hydraulic control levers back and forth in order to relieve hydraulic pressure.
Move all hydraulic control levers into the HOLD position.
