When testing and adjusting the transmission and power train, move the machine to an area clear of obstructions, with safe exhaust ventilation for the exhausts. Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, do the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the transmission and power train.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
To ensure that the transmission oil does not overheat do not keep the torque converter in the stall condition for more than 30 seconds. After the torque converter stall test allow the transmission oil to cool before stopping the engine.
Before you begin the test, refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".

Operate the machine until the transmission oil is at an operating temperature of 80 °C (176 °F).
Stop the machine on a hard level surface. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL. Lower the bowl. Stop the engine.Note: The drive wheels must not turn during a stall test. Lower the bowl into the ground or put the tractor against a solid object that will not move.
Remove the plug from pressure taps (1) and (3) .
Install Tool (B) in pressure tap (3) .
Attach Tool (A) to Tool (B) .
Start the engine. Run the engine at LOW IDLE in NEUTRAL.
The pressure on the gauge must be 530 20 kPa (77 3 psi) minimum.
Stop the engine. Remove the test equipment.
Install plugs in pressure tap (1) and pressure tap (3) .
If the initial speed clutch pressure needs adjustment, add or remove spacers in the pressure differential valve. Refer to Specifications, "Selector and Pressure Control Valve (Transmission)" and Disassembly and Assembly for more information.Test Procedure for the Speed and Direction Clutch Pressure
Remove the plug in pressure tap (2) and (3) .
Install Tool (B) in pressure tap (2) and (3) .
Attach Tool (A) to Tool (B) .
Push the brake pedal and hold the brake pedal DOWN. Make sure that the parking brake is RELEASED.
Run the engine at HIGH IDLE in FOURTH speed. The pressure on the gauge for the speed clutch must be 2585 70 kPa (375 10 psi). The direction clutch pressure must be less than the speed clutch pressure by 380 35 kPa (55 5 psi).Note: The machine will try
