Information:
Calibration with a Pressure Gauge
Note: When additional safety is needed on machines that are equipped with a swing brake solenoid, disconnect the swing brake solenoid so that the swing brake remains engaged.
Select a work tool that provides one-way flow from two pumps or one-way flow from one pump. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Work Tool - Select" for the Tool Control System.
Position the machine on level ground and stop the engine.
Before the adjustment procedure begins, lower the work tool to the ground.
Close the stop valves that are mounted on each side of the stick to prevent oil flow to the work tool during this procedure.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" for the machine.
Attach a 4900 kPa (750 psi) pressure gauge to the pressure tap for the proportional solenoid valve for negative flow control.
Start the engine.
Move the engine speed dial to position 10.
Raise the oil temperature to 50° 5°C (122° F).
Verify that the pilot pressure is set to the specifications that are in Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Pilot) - Test and Adjust" for the machine.
Ensure that a "TOOL#" is selected.
Enter the "Service" menu on the monitor.
Enter password "9992".
Select "Calibration" menu.
Select "Main Pump Flow Limit" menu.
Select "Flow Limit Press".
Press the "OK" key to start the calibration. The engine RPM will automatically increase to the equivalence of engine speed dial 10.
Confirm the notes on the monitor display. Set up the test conditions in accordance with the instructions. Press the "OK" key.
Press and hold the control input for activation of the stick to the full stick IN position during calibration.
Use the arrows to adjust the NFC pressure until the NFC pressure reading for the flow limit valve is at 1500 50 kPa (217.6 7.3 psi). Press the device for activation 3 times and release the device for activation 3 times for each adjustment.
Press the OK key.
Press and hold the control input for activation of the stick to the full stick IN position during calibration.
Use the arrows to adjust the NFC pressure until the NFC pressure reading for the flow limit valve is at 3000 50 kPa (435.1 7.3 psi). Press the device for activation 3 times and release the device for activation 3 times for each adjustment.
Press the OK key.
If calibration was successful and no errors occurred, the display will indicate that the calibration is complete.
The "Error" screen will be displayed on the monitor if an error occurs. The process of calibration will not be saved and the process must be restarted.
