Installation Procedure
1. Remove and discard 6U7455 Turbocharger Guard Assembly (1), 5U4776 Exhaust Guard Assembly (2), 5U4780 Exhaust Guard Assembly (3), and 6U0105 Bracket (4). See Illustration 1.
Illustration 1. Location of components to be removed.2. Install brackets (5) and (11) on the engine block with bolts (9), washers (7), and spacers (10). Completely tighten the bolts. See Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Location of new turbocharger guard components.3. Install turbocharger guard (8) with bolts (6) and washers (7). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 34 N m (25 lb ft).4. Install brackets (17) and (19) on bottom guard (18) with bolts (12), lockwashers (13), and washers (14). Do not fully tighten the bolts at this time. See Illustration 3.5. Position bottom guard assembly (18) loosely under the exhaust manifold, to the rear of the turbocharger.6. Install top guard (16), engaging three slots (A) between washers (14) and bottom guard assembly (18).7. Install bolts (12) with lockwashers (13) and washers (14) through top guard (16) into bracket (B) on the exhaust pipe. Do not fully tighten the bolts at this time.
Illustration 3. Location of new exhaust guard components.8. Fasten the rear of top guard (16) to bracket (19) with bolt (12), lockwasher (13), washer (14), and nut (15).9. With the top and bottom guards in position, tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 34 N m (25 lb ft).
