Propel Control - The propel control determines the direction and speed of the paver. The directions are forward (1), neutral (2), and reverse (3) . To activate the propel control, lift the collar under the handle. Move the lever to the desired position.Push the lever away from the operator (1) in order to move the paver forward.Move the propel control to the center position or NEUTRAL (2) in order to stop the paver.Note: Do not lift up on the collar of the propel control when you return the propel control to the NEUTRAL position. The propel control may travel past the NEUTRAL position.Pull the propel control toward the operator (3) in order to move the paver in reverse.The lever also controls the speed of the paver. When the lever is closer to the NEUTRAL position, the speed will be slower. When the lever is farther from the NEUTRAL position, the speed will be faster.Note: Set the maximum speed potentiometer to the desired position in order to maintain a constant speed when you pave. Then move the propel control to the maximum position. This will allow the paver to always pave at the same speed.Note: The propel lever must be returned to the NEUTRAL position in order to move the machine after the parking brake has been released.
