Check the oil level in the torque converter sight gage (2).
When the engine is off, the oil for the transmission and torque converter system should be at ambient temperature (cold). Maintain the oil level within the green range of upper sight gauge.
If the oil level is below the green range, then add oil at the filler cap (1) to bring the oil in the green range, before starting the engine.
If the oil level is above the green range, then start the engine. Final oil level check is required at the transmission oil temperature of 80 +/-10°C before the machine can be operated.
Operate the engine at low idle with the shift control lever in P position. Engage the parking brake until the transmission oil temperature of 80 +/-10°C is obtained. Torque converter stalls may be performed in order to bring the torque converter oil up to operating temperature. Oil must be in the green range of the sight gage (2) before the machine can be operated.
If the oil level is below the green range, add oil at the filler cap (1) to bring the oil in the green range, before starting the engine.
If the oil level is above the green range, then drain oil to bring the oil down to the top of the green range.
If the system has been drained, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change" for the proper procedure.
