Once installation of the hose is complete, review the work to be sure that the entire routing is correct with the hose touching only the rubber grommets in the p-clips. Adjust if required.

Note: Use caution to ensure that no dirt enters the fuel port in the cylinder head. Damage to the fuel injectors could result.
17. Remove the fuel hose by disconnecting at the tee (26)(Image1.16.1) and port connector (27)(Image1.16.2) and by removing the nut, washers, clips, spacer, and stud (28)(Image1.16.3). Save the hardware for later reuse. On certain machines a second p-clip and bracket are present as circled. Remove these p-clips and bracket and do not reuse. (Image1.16.4) Carefully inspect the hose. If the hose is damaged, determine the source of the damage and correct when installing the new hose. Refer to Special Instruction REHS3297 ? Installation of Fuel Lines to determine if the installation of hoses, brackets, and p-clips was performed correctly on a previous service letter. If the problem cannot be corrected, stop and contact the your dealer technical communicator for additional assistance.
18. Remove the 030-7937 Port Connector (27) and O-ring seal from the cylinder head and do not reuse. (Image1.16.2)
19. Install the shorter 1P-1376 Port Connector and the 214-7568 O-ring seal into the cylinder head. Tighten the connector to 34 +/- 3 N*m (25 +/- 2 lb*ft).
20. Connect the 322-7616 Fuel Hose to the port connector and tee and tighten both ends to 27 +/- 6 N*m (20 +/- 4 lb ft). If the hose appears to be too long, verify that you have the correct hose part number.
IF A METAL PART NUMBER TAG IS PRESENT, IT MUST BE REMOVED AFTER CONNECTING THE 322-7616 FUEL HOSE. FAILURE TO REMOVE THE PART NUMBER TAG CAN RESULT IN HOSE FAILURE. (Image 1.17.1)

Install bracket, washer, and bolt (33). Do not tighten. Install clips and grommet (30,31,32) to hose (35) and bracket using bolt, washers, spacer, and nut (34). When installing the washers place one washer under the head of the bolt and one under the nut. The 9.5mm thick spacer must go between the 6L2479 bracket and the p-clip as depicted. Tighten both bolted joints to 47 +/- 9 N*m (35 +/- 7 lb ft). Reinstall the original p-clip with the previously removed hardware but do not reuse the old grommet. Replace it with a new part. Tighten the stud and nut to 47 +/- 9 N*m (35 +/- 7 lb*ft). When properly done, this hose will have two p-clips securing it. The alternator cable must have adequate clearance with the fuel hose. If not, make the necessary adjustments. A spacer must be present as shown in image 1.16.3. ----------------- Is this the correct image-------
