CONVERSION: For purposes of conversion, the new pins can be installed from the inner side of the boom towers instead of from the outer side. This permits assembly without removal of the existing ears for the lock bars used with the former pins. Be sure the boom bearings have the later, larger diameter bore (see the topic "Adaptable To").
1. Fabricate two blocks as shown in Illustration 1.2. Grind a flat, smooth area on top of the inner plate of each boom tower for installation of a fabricated block. See Illustration 2.3. Assemble a fabricated block to each new pin and install the pin through the boom tower so the block is in position against the ground surface on top of the tower inner plate.4. Tack weld the block to hold it in place, then remove the pin.5. Weld the fabricated block in place as shown in Illustration 2.
