Information:
grade offset function is only for the purpose of display. The grade offset function does not affect the operation of the machine in any way. The grade offset value offsets the setpoint value and/or the actual value for the readouts only. The same grade offset value is used for the automatic operating mode and the manual operating mode. When any calibration for a grade sensor is performed on that side, the system resets the grade offset value to zero. This is an example: The machine is milling four inches below the zero cut position. The operator wishes to see zero on the readout instead of "-4.00". Then, the grade offset function can be used to change the readout from "-4.00" to "0.00". To adjust the grade offset value, press and hold the grade sensor calibration switch. After approximately one second, a "O" as the character on the far left of the readout signifies that the grade offset function is selected. The value for grade that is now shown is the setpoint value plus the offset or the value is the actual value plus the offset. The value depends on the automatic operating mode or the manual operating mode. While you continue to hold the grade sensor calibration switch, the front raise/lower switch is used to adjust the value to the desired grade offset value. To save the new grade offset value, release the grade sensor calibration switch. When the machine is operating, the values for grade that are now shown on the readout will include the grade offset value. While a grade offset value is being used, the character on the far left of the readout will show a special symbol which looks like a filled diamond. Note: The grade sensor calibration switch must be pressed for more than 1 second in order to activate the grade offset function. If the switch is pressed for less than 1 second, the setpoint is saved. Note: If the grade sensor calibration switch is held for more than 1 second, and the front raise/lower switch is NOT pressed, when you release the grade sensor calibration switch, the offset is not changed.
