(7) Mounting Bracket (8) Left Side Branch
There are three ways of checking if the water valve has been mounted correctly:
The mounting bracket (7) for the cable should be pointing toward the rear of the machine.
The water supply from the thermostat housing on the engine should be connected to the left side branch (8) of the water valve.
When you remove the two hoses the "ARROW" on the water valve should be pointing toward the rear of the machine. If the "ARROW" on the water valve is pointing toward the front of the machine, the water valve has been installed incorrectly.
Install a clamp onto both hoses on the water valve in order to prevent engine coolant loss. Alternately drain the coolant into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System".

Remove two cable straps (12) that secure the water valve to the underside of the cab floor. Discard the two cable straps.
Rotate the water valve around 180 degrees until mounting bracket (7) for the cable is pointing toward the rear of the machine. Refer to illustration 4 for the correct installation.
Install the water valve on the underside of the cab floor. Secure the water valve on the underside of the cab with two new 1S-9593 Cable Straps .
Install the two hoses on the water valve. Secure the hoses with the two existing hose clamps.
Remove the two clamps that were installed on the hoses in order to prevent the loss of the engine coolant.
Check the operation of the control cable for the water valve. Ensure that the water valve is able to open fully and that the water valve is able to close fully. Adjust the cable if it is necessary.
Install 8I-5350 Closing Plate (6) and four screws (5) .
Install floormat (4), strip (2), five screws (1) and two clips (3) .
Refill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Specifications" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacties".
Start the engine and check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System".
