The new C9 Engine/XSMN Arrangement ID Plate (P/N 225-4150) will need to be
ordered through the DSN (Dealer Solution Network). The Engine/XSMN
Arrangement Plate needs to be ordered as soon as the Engine is received so as
to provide the correct C9 Engine Serial Number against the motor grader it
will be installed in as well as to ensure adequate time is given to CAT to
create replacements and ship them out to avoid unnecessary delays to the
dealerships.
The Plate will be shipped out via Fed-Ex/UPS Next-Day Delivery.
Please provide information through DSN in the following format:
DSN Service Request Title - REBE5450 Engine/XSMN Arrangement Plate Request

SPECIFIC C7 ENGINE PRODUCT PACKAGING INSTRUCTIONS
1.) Drain all fluids. Remove and drain all filters. Existing filters should be
reinstalled after draining to contain residual fluids. Due to EPA regulations,
there can be no leaking of fluids into the trailers or containers.
2.) Ship core on the same stand as the C9 Engine was shipped on. (Ref. Image 1.3.1)
Position and secure the C7 at the four corner areas of the engine in the same
manner as the received C9 Engine. Some modifications may be necessary to make
the C7 Engines safe for travel on the C9 stands.
3.) All C7 Engines should be securely bolted to the C9 Engine stand.
Re-attach both the front left and right side Engine Mounting Brackets to the
designated locations on the Engine. New Bolts (P/N 8C-3425) & Washers (P/N 7X-
0510) will be required since the C7 uses smaller diameter Bolts than what is
shipped with the C9 Engine.
Ensure that the old secondary fuel filter and bracket are securely mounted to
the Engine Core prior to shipment. (Refer to Images 1.3.2 & 1.3.3)
4.) Plug or tape all openings. It is recommended to use any of the existing plugs
that came off of the C9 Engine to plug any or all open ports. In the case
where the proper size plugs are not available, the use of Masking or Duct tape
is acceptable. Duct tape can also be used to ensure the caps/plugs stay in
place. (Refer to Images 1.3.4 & 1.3.5)
5.) Ensure to attach a "NO OIL" tag to the returned C7 Engine prior to shipment.
Place a plastic bag over the Engine and stretch wrap or tape around the bagged
Engine so as to hold it in place during shipment. (Refer to Image 1.3.6)
6.) Ensure all loose parts are secured to the engine stand on the bottom of the
Engine. Loose parts placed on top of the engine may fall, causing injury to
the operator and damaging the core.
7.) Ensure that the "Return Engine Flasher" as referenced in the Special
Instruction and C7 Core Return Guidelines/Procedures
