(6) Return PortMachines are equipped with hydraulically assisted master cylinders. When you apply the brakes, the master cylinders decrease the amount of pedal effort. This system uses oil from the pilot accumulator to add boost to the master cylinder. The hydraulic force multiplies the pedal effort so the operator can get more braking force with less effort. The left brake pedal (1) controls the left side of the service brake control valve (4) and the left rear brakes. The right brake pedal (2) controls the right side of the service brake control valve (4) and the right rear brakes. The left and right brake pedals are connected together by the lock bar (3). The lock bar (3) allows both brake pedals to be applied together.Unlock the lock bar (3) to aid in maneuvering in tight quarters. Unlock the lock bar (3) in first gear only. Use the brake pedals with the steering wheel to make sharp turns. Use the left brake pedal (1) to help with sharp left turns. Use the right brake pedal (2) to help with sharp right turns.

When the brake is not used, the oil is blocked at the valve for power assist (7) and the valve for power assist (14).When the operator partially depresses the left brake pedal (1), some oil is sent from the Left valve for power assist (7) to the master cylinder (8). Also, some oil is sent to the return port (6). Then, the piston of the master cylinder (8) moves right and the piston forces the slave cylinder (9) to the right. Some of the oil in the return port (6) is sent to the slave cylinder (9). The slave cylinder (9) directs oil to the line for the left side service brake (10).Note: The brake pedal
