The operator's seat that is provided with this machine is in compliance with the appropriate class of "ISO 7096".Note: Adjust the seat for a new operator or at the beginning of each shift.The operator should be seated against the seat backrest. The operator should be seated against the seat backrest. Adjust the seat so that the operator is allowed full travel of all the controls. Turn the knob (1) clockwise in order to increase the stiffness of the suspension of the seat. Turn knob (1) counterclockwise in order to decrease the stiffness of the suspension of the seat. Proper adjustment of the suspension seat requires the yellow pointer (2) to be flush with the tube. The operator must be seated when the suspension seat is adjusted.In order to adjust the height of the seat, pull up lever (3) and move the seat to the desired position. In order to lock the seat in the desired position, release lever (3) .In order to move the seat forward or backward, pull lever (4) outward. Move the seat to the desired position. This machine was shipped from Caterpillar with a seat belt that was installed at the factory. The seat belt was installed by meeting the specifications in "SAE J386, JUN85" for a construction machine and in "SAE J386, JUN1993". Consult your Caterpillar dealer for all replacement parts.Always check the condition of the seat belt and of the mounting hardware before you operate the machine.Regardless of appearance, replace the seat belt after every three years of use. A date label for determining the age of the seat belt is attached to each seat belt.Inspect the seat belt for wear or for damage. Inspect the webbing for wear and for fraying.Check for worn buckles or damaged buckles on each half of the seat belt. Replace the seat belt or replace the buckles if the belt or the buckles are damaged.Inspect the belt mounting hardware. Replace any worn hardware or damaged hardware. Keep the mounting bolts tight.Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Seat Belt" and the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Seat" for more detailed information.Note: Always use the seat belt when you operate the machine.
