Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR8648, "Final Drive - Assemble" and Disassembly and Assembly, KENR5993, "Final Drive - Assemble" for the procedure to adjust the preload on the ball bearing assembly.    
1     20     7Y-5235 Bolt     Torque to 900 100 N m (664 74 lb ft).    
2     -     -     Before assembly, apply 1U-8846 Gasket Sealant to the surfaces of the ring gear and the cover.    
3     2     196-4873 Ball Bearing As     Apply 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound to the outside diameter and the inside diameter of the parts that contact the ball bearing assemblies.    
4     1     213-4737 Duo-Cone Seal Gp     During assembly, the rubber toric seals and all the contacting surfaces must be clean and dry. Apply a thin coat of oil on the mating surfaces of the metal seals before assembly. Make sure that the seals are assembled square in the bore. The rubber toric seal should not bulge and the rubber toric seal should not twist.    
5     As required, use the following plates in order to adjust the clearance (C) from
1.0 to 2.0 mm (0.04 to 0.08 inch):    
1 094-0577 Plate     Thickness is
7.0 0.2 mm (0.28 0.01 inch).    
1 094-0578 Plate     Thickness is
8.0 0.2 mm (0.31 0.01 inch).    
1 094-0579 Plate     Thickness is
9.0 0.2 mm (0.35 0.01 inch).    
1 094-0580 Plate     Thickness is
10.0 0.2 mm (0.39 0.01 inch).    
6     2     3E-2338 Pipe Plug     Torque to
80 10 N m (59 7 lb ft).    
7     2     8T-0293 Bolt     Apply blue Loctite 242 to the threads of the bolts. The threads must be cleaned dry before applying sealant.    
8     -     -     After the seven spring pins are installed, make two stake marks for each pin. Refer to Illustration 1 for the locations of the stake marks.    
D     -     -     The distance from the edge of the spring pin hole to the stake mark is
2.25 0.75 mm (0.089 0.030 inch).
