Install Tooling (B) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (B). Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi) of air. This procedure will pull vacuum on the hydraulic system.

Position plate (4) and bolts (2) onto each side of pin (5). Attach a suitable lifting device to each side of pin (5).

Attach a suitable lifting device to pin assembly (23). The weight of pin assembly (23) is approximately 54 kg (120 lb). Install pin assembly (23) and install bolt (22).
Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to boom (21) and pin assembly (23). The combined weight of boom (21) and the stick cylinder is 4458 kg (9828 lb). Apply slight lifting tension to boom (21).

Use Tooling (D) to remove pin assembly (24). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D). The combined weight of Tooling (D) and pin assembly (24) is approximately 234 kg (515 lb). Remove bolts (25), the plate, pin assembly (24), the shims, and the boom. Lifting Device Installation Method 2

Position plate (4) and bolts (2) onto each side of pin (5). Attach a suitable lifting device to each side of pin (5).

Use suitable size of the shackles and install the shackles onto the boom. Attach a suitable lifting device to the shackles. The combined weight of boom (21) and the stick cylinder is 4458 kg (9828 lb). Apply slight lifting tension to boom (21).

Use Tooling (D) to remove pin assembly (24). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D). The combined weight of Tooling (D) and pin assembly (24) is approximately 234 kg (515 lb). Remove bolts (25), the plate, pin assembly (24), the shims, and the boom. Installation Procedure
Install boom (21) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten clamp (13) to a torque of 4.5 0.7 N m (39.8 6.2 lb in).
Tighten bolts (15) and (17) to a torque of 100 20 N m (74 15 lb ft).

Slide the boom to one side until the boom contacts the frame. Measure Dimension (X). Install the shim until a maximum Dimension (X) is achieved. Dimension (X) is 1.0 mm (0.04 inch).

Apply Tooling (E) to pin assembly (24). Use Tooling (A) to install pin assembly (24).
