1. Remove a flight and put chain and chain binder (2) around flights (1) and (8). Tighten chain binder to release tension on links.2. Remove cotter pin (3), roller pin (4), flight bar (5), roller (6) and bar (7).3. Install bar (7), roller (6), flight bar (5), roller pin (4), and cotter pin (3).4. Remove chain and chain binder (2) and install flight. Make an adjustment of the idler arms to make link tension.Adjustment Of Elevator Chain
Measure the distance (7) from the underside of elevator frame (4) to chain (6). If measurement is more than 16 inches (406.4 mm), make an adjustment of the chain.1. Remove the nuts from idler arm adjusting bolts (2) and (5). There are two idler arms on each side of elevator.2. Loosen idler arm clamping bolts (1) and (3).3. Remove adjusting bolts (2) and (5) and lift idler arms until there is 12 inches (304.8 mm) distance (7) from underside of elevator frame (4) to chain (16) on both sides of elevator.4. Install bolts (2) and (5) and nuts for bolts on both sides of elevator.5. Tighten the bolts (1) and (3) on both sides of elevator. When there is no more adjustment, remove links from chain.
