Equipment Ground Connection
Illustration 1 g03368914
Unit ground bar shall be connected in accordance with National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, Article 250. Installer shall use UL Listed terminal connectors and install in accordance with terminal connector manufacturer instructions. Terminal connectors shall be used within UL rating limit and suitable for the application. A field wiring ground terminal shall be sized for the connection based on the minimum ground conductor size required by UL as shown in the corresponding column of Table 1.Over-current protection devices
For units without installed circuit breaker over-current protection option, installer shall use off package mounted UL Listed circuit breaker within 7.6 m (25 feet) of generator set.

Installer shall use Class 1 wiring methods for all controller (customer) connections with following exception. Class 2 wiring methods shall be allowed for Class 2 controller interface wiring when Class 2 conductors are shielded with UL Listed/recognized insulation sleeve or conduit rated to 600V for each individual circuit.Batteries
Servicing of batteries is to be performed or supervised by personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries. When replacing batteries, use the same number and the following type batteries:Cat Premium High Output (PHO) Batteries
Standard battery is 115-2421, non-vented, BCI Group 31, Calcium Lead Alloy Grid Design with SAE PostsOversize battery is 9x-9730, vented, BCI Group 4D, Low Maintenance, Hybrid Construction
Do not dispose of battery or batteries in a fire. The battery is capable of exploding.
Do not open or mutilate the battery or batteries. Released electrolyte has been know to be harmful to the skin and eyes and to be toxic.
A battery presents a risk of electrical shock and high short circuit current.
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects, 2) Use tools with insulated handles
The electrolyte is a dilute sulfuric acid that is harmful to the skin and eyes. It is electrically conductive and corrosive.
It is electrically conductive and corrosive. The following procedures are to be observed:
Wear full eye protection and protective clothing,
Where electrolyte contacts the skin, wash it off immediately with water,
Where electrolyte contacts the eyes, flush thoroughly and immediately with water and seek medical attention, and
Spilled electrolyte is to be washed down with an acid neutralizing agent. A common practice is to use a solution of 1 lb (500 g) bicarbonate of soda to 1 US gal (4 L) of water. The bicarbonate
