On a Excavator, the antenna for the Product Link system is mounted on a bracket that places the antenna in a horizontal position. Refer to Illustration 1.

This position is chosen in order to protect the antenna from damage during transportation. This horizontal position is not an operational position. The antenna must be placed in the vertical position in order to operate correctly.Solution
Before registering and operating Product Link, ensure that the antenna is in the vertical position. The bracket has two positions in order to place the antenna. If the antenna is delivered in a horizontal position, reseat the antenna in the vertical position by performing the following steps:
Unscrew the nut for the antenna.
Remove the antenna from the horizontal position. Use care when you handle the harness. Ensure that the harness and the antenna are not damaged.
Place the antenna in the vertical position by mounting the antenna on top of the bracket.
Tighten the nut in order to secure the antenna.
