Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install the steering control valve to the machine. Install three bolts (19) to the steering control valve.

Connect hose (18) to steering control valve (5) and tighten retaining nut (17) .

Position tube (16) to steering control valve (5) . Install flange (15) and four bolts (14) to steering control valve (5) . Position tube (13) to steering control valve (5) . Install flange (12) and four bolts (11) to steering control valve (5) .

Position tube (10) to steering control valve (5) . Install flange (9) and four bolts (8) to steering control valve (5) . Connect hose (7) to steering control valve (5) and tighten retaining nut (6) . Install yoke rod end (4) to steering control valve (5) . Install bolt (3) to yoke rod end (4) . Install nut (2) to bolt (3) . Install cotter pin (1) to nut (2) .
Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Owner's Manual, SEBU6447 for information on refilling the hydraulic tank.
