Transmission Speed Pick-Up Adjustment

TRANSMISSION SPEED PICK-UP
(1) Air gap. (2) Locknut.1. Remove the speed sensor. Align a gear tooth directly in the center of the threaded sensor opening.2. By hand, screw the sensor into the hole until the end of the sensor just makes contact with the gear tooth.3. Turn the sensor back out half a turn (180°) in a counterclockwise direction. This sets air gap (1) to 0.71 mm (.028 in).4. Tighten locknut (2) to 25 5 N m (20 4 lb ft). Do not allow the sensor to turn as locknut (2) is tightened.Engine Speed Pick-up Adjustment

ENGINE SPEED PICK-UP
(1) Speed sensor. (2) Sliphead.1. Remove speed sensor (1) and extend sliphead (2) until it stops.2. Align a gear tooth directly in the center of the threaded sensor opening.3. Screw the sensor into the hole. The sliphead at the end of the sensor will make contact with the gear tooth and retract as the sensor is installed.4. Tighten the sensor to 40 5 N m (29 4 lb ft). This sensor is self adjusting and does not require a preset air gap.
