Remove nuts (10) from adjusters (11) .

Note: Raising the screed higher than 114 mm (4.5 inch) before disconnecting the harness assembly may damage the harness assembly.
Start the machine. Raise the screed approximately 114 mm (4.5 inch) and place blocks under the screed. Shut off the machine.
Disconnect harness assembly (12) from screed plate (13) .
Start the machine. Raise the screed in order to clear the studs on screed plate (13). Place blocks under the screed. Shut off the machine and remove screed plate (13). The weight of screed plate (13) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb).

Remove studs (14) from screed plate (13) .
In order to remove the heating element, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Heating Element (Extender) - Remove".Installation Procedure

Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of studs (14). Install studs (14) to screed plate (13) and tighten to a torque of 70 12 N m (51 9 lb ft). Grind studs (14) flush with the bottom of the screed plate.
In order to install the heating element, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Heating Element (Extender) - Install".

Start the machine. Raise the screed in order to clear the studs on screed plate (13). Install screed plate (13). The weight of screed plate (13) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb). Start the machine. Remove the blocks and lower the screed to approximately 114 mm (4.5 inch). Place blocks under the screed and shut off the machine.
Connect harness assembly (12) from screed plate (13) .
Start the machine and lower the screed to the ground. Shut off the machine.

Apply Tooling (B) to adjusters (11). Install nuts (10) on adjusters (11). Tighten nuts (10) to a torque of 70 12 N m (52 9 lb ft).

Connect harness assemblies (9) .

Install cover (8) and bolts (7) .

Install sensor housing (5) and install bolts (6) .

Apply Tooling (B) to adjusters (4). Install nuts (3) on adjusters (4). Tighten nuts (3) to a torque of 70 12 N m (52 9 lb ft).

Install deflector plate (1) and bolts (2) .
