SUPPORT 9Y0209 - Caterpillar

(1) Lift and put blocks under the scraper bowl. Lift and put a support under the apron; make sure the apron is in a position so it cannot fall. Remove end cutting edges (1) and (2). Measure from the rear of the bowl to the dimension shown and make a chalk line. When the front section is removed, make the first cut at a longer dimension and then trim (cut) at the correct dimensions shown above. (2) With an Arcair torch or similar tool, clean the areas where the new front section is to be installed. Make sure to check the dimensions. (3) Measure the width between the bowl sides and trim (cut) the new bowl bottom equally on both sides as necessary for a good fit. Weld three lifting eyes to the bowl bottom as shown and lift into position. Tack weld as necessary. (4) Make a .39" (10) fillet weld at locations (A) [both sides]. Weld (B) is a .98" (25) flush bevel groove weld and weld (C) is a .43" (11) bevel groove weld. Tack weld 1U3446 Strip (3) [back-up] in the position shown with .16" (4) fillet welds 2.0" (50) long, 8.0" (203) apart. Along the bottom, opposite weld (A), make a .39" (10) fillet weld and opposite weld (B) make a .47" (12) fillet weld. (5) Install 1U3448 Plate (4) [both sides] and make .67" (17) bevel groove welds (D). Make .12" (3) square groove weld (E), followed by a .67" (17) bevel groove weld. Install 1U3445 Plate (5) with a .39" (10) flush J-groove weld (F) and .39" (10) bevel groove weld (G). Cut two 1U3360 Plates (6) at the correct length and weld on both sides and at the rear with .24" (6) fillet welds (H). (6) Install 5J3283 Plate (7) [right side] and 5J3284 Plate [left side] at the location shown. Make a .67" (17) fillet weld (J) and .47" (12) fillet weld at (K). Make a .47" (12) fillet weld at (L) and a .39" (10) fillet weld at (M). Make sure the plates fit flat against the bowl sides.
