15. Install piston (15) in valve (16). Install spring (17), washer (18) and nut (19).16. Install nut (19) until one of the grooves (slots) is in alignment with the hole in the piston. Install cotter pin (20) that holds the valve together. 17. Put pressure relief valve (22) in position in the middle body section. Make sure the hole in the valve is in alignment with the pin in the middle body section.18. Use tool (A) and install snap ring (21) in the groove of the middle body section.19. Install setscrew (23) in the groove (slot) of pressure relief valve (22). 20. Install O-ring seals (27) on backup rings (26). Install backup ring (26) in front body section (28).21. Put retainers (25) in position in front body section (28) as shown.22. Install isolation plates (24) in front body section (28) that hold the retainers in place. Make sure the side of the isolation plates that have a round edge along the outer radius on one edge go in the bottom of the body section.
Do not use force to install the pressure plates. Hold the plates as level as possible and slide them into position. To prevent damage to the pressure plate do not let the pump gears fall into position in the pump housing.
23. Carefully install pressure plate (29) in front body section (28). The bronze side of the pressure plate must be toward the gears and the machined notch (trap slot) toward the outlet side of the pump. 24. Carefully install drive gear (30) and driven gear (31) in the front body section as shown. Opening (34) is the pump outlet.25. The front pump gears and the rear pump gears should be in correct time with each other. Move front drive gear (30) until one of the gear valleys (33) is in alignment with dowel (32). After the alignment has been made, do not move the gears until the complete pump has been assembled. The gear tooth of one pump should be in alignment with the valley of the gear in the other pump when assembled. 26. Install coupling (35) on the end of drive gear (30). 27. Put front body section (28) in position on the middle body section.
Do not use force to install the pressure plate. Hold the plate as level as possible and slide it into position.
28. Install pressure plate (36) in the front body section. The bronze side of the pressure plate must be toward the gears and the machined notch (trap slot) toward the outlet side of the pump. 29. Put retainers (38) in position on the pressure plate.30. Put isolation plates (37) in position on the pressure plate to hold retainers (38) in place. The isolation plates have the same outside edge radius and can be installed either way. 31. Install O-ring seal (39) on the flange as shown.32. Use tool group (B) to install the lower lip type seal in the flange to a maximum depth of 18.06 mm (.711
