Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that all components are clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.c to install new connections to diesel exhaust fluid pump (26).
Remove plugs from the open ports on diesel exhaust fluid pump (26). Install new connections (29) to the diesel exhaust fluid pump. Tighten the connection to a torque of 5.5 N m (49 lb in).
Remove plugs from the open port on diesel exhaust fluid pump (26). Install new connection (30) to the diesel exhaust fluid pump. Tighten the connection to a torque of 4.5 N m (40 lb in).
Remove plugs from the open ports on diesel exhaust fluid pump (26). Install new connection (31) and a new connection (32) to the diesel exhaust fluid pump. Tighten the connections to a torque of 4.5 N m (40 lb in).

If necessary, install a new filter (28) (not shown). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) Filter - Clean/Replace" for the correct procedure.
Position diesel exhaust fluid pump (26) onto bracket (27).
Install bolts (25) to diesel exhaust fluid pump (26). Support the weight of the diesel exhaust fluid pump as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolts (25) to a torque of 19 N m (168 lb in).

Remove cap (20) from connection on the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
Install manifold (23) to the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
Install bolts (24) to manifold (23) finger tight.
Apply Tooling (B) to a new O-ring seal (21) (not shown) and a new O-ring seal (22) (not shown).
Position cap (20) onto manifold (23).Note: Ensure that the cap is correctly installed onto the connection on the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
Install Allen head bolts (19) to cap (20) finger tight.
Tighten Allen head bolts (19) to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).
Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 4 N m (35 lb in).

Position bracket (16) onto the bracket for diesel exhaust fluid pump.
Install bolts (12), bolts (15), and bolts (17) to bracket (16). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 4 N m (35 lb in).
Connected harness assembly (17) to the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
Position bracket (13) onto bracket (16).
Install bolt (14). Tighten bolt (14) to a torque of 4 N m (35 lb in).

Remove the plugs and
