Information:

Set the digital voltmeter on the auto range or on the "400 DCV" scale. Connect the positive test lead to the terminal "101C" and connect the negative test lead to the terminal "101D".
The operator needs to depress the lift switch while you observe the voltmeter.Expected Result:The voltmeter should read zero volts during the boost cycle (a few seconds). Then, the voltmeter should read approximately one half of the battery voltage (12 - 14 volts) in the lift mode during "carry".Results:
YES - The voltmeter did read zero volts during the boost cycle (a few seconds). Then, the voltmeter read approximately one half of the battery voltage (12 - 14 volts) in the lift mode during "carry".Repair: If the lift mode is active, depress the drop switch.Set the digital voltmeter on the auto range or on the "400 DCV" scale. Connect the positive test lead to the terminal "PDB151" and connect the negative test lead to the terminal "PDB152".Note the starting position of the adjusting jumper. Move the adjusting jumper away from wire "101C" until the generator output voltage is between 230 DCV and 240 DCV.Reducing the generator output voltageRefer to the electrical schematic. Moving the adjusting jumper away from wire "101C" and toward wire "101D" will reduce the generator output voltage. This process will increase the resistance in the shunt field circuit which will reduce the excitation circuit and the output voltage will decrease. Stop.
NO - The voltmeter reads zero volts during the boost and the "carry". The contacts of boost relay "CR169" have failed.Repair: Replace the boost relay "CR169". Stop.Test Step 4. CHECK THE STATUS OF THE INDICATOR
While the engine is running at high idle, the operator will need to actuate the "Magnet/Grapple" switch momentarily to the Grapple position. Then, actuate the "Magnet/Grapple" switch back to the Magnet position. Observe the LED indicator on the soft start solenoid valve on the manifold.Expected Result:The LED indicator of the soft start solenoid valve should illuminate when the "Magnet/Grapple" switch is moved to the Magnet position. The LED turned off a few seconds later. Results:
YES - The LED indicator of the soft start solenoid valve illuminated when the "Magnet/Grapple" switch was moved to the Magnet position. The LED turned off a few seconds later.Repair: Adjust the generator speed to 1800 50 RPM. Verify whether the problem is fixed. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Generator Set - Test and Adjust" for the procedure for adjusting the speed of the generator. Stop.
NO - The LED indicator of the soft start solenoid valve illuminated when the "Magnet/Grapple" switch was moved to the Magnet position. The LED did not turn off a few seconds later.Repair: The "soft start timer" relay ("TR106") has failed. Replace the "soft start timer" relay ("TR106"). Verify that the RPM of the generator is correct. Verify whether the problem is resolved. Stop.Test Step 5. OBSERVE THE SETTINGS
