Illustration 2 g03416183
A view of ladder and step gap
Move ladder up to verify that the ladder moves freely without contacting the step.
Illustration 3 g03416185
A view of shims on the ladder mount
If the ladder contacts the step, add additional 360-4972 Shims as needed to prevent the ladder from contacting the step.Cable Adjustment
Manually lower the ladder. Loosen and turn nuts to move and adjust the clevis and stud bolt.
Turn stud into lock mechanism as far as possible.

Test both the cab and ground level levers with the ladder down. There should be little to no slack in the cable as the full throw of the lever should be utilized from the start of the lever rotation. If the slack is not correct, continue to adjust the clevis and stud until the slack is correct.Switch Assembly Verification / Rear Bumper Adjustment
Raise the ladder manually into desired position tucked within the profile of the machine, such that the foot peg on the last step is approximately 20 mm (0.8 inch) past the grab iron. As a guide, check that the front edge of the fixed step and the back edge of the step above are in line with one another.

Adjust the rear bumpers out to meet the ladder rails and tighten the jam nut to 55 10 N m (40.5 7 lb ft).

Illustration 10 g03416557
Side profile view of sensor and magnet (A) 20 mm (0.79 inch)
Verify that the bottom edge of the sensor and the bottom edge of the aluminum magnet bracket are in line. If not, adjust the sensor to put the sensor and bracket in line. Verify gap (A) between the sensor and the magnet is 20 mm (0.79 inch).Cylinder Adjustment / Emergency Release Verification
Lower the ladder.
Illustration 11 g03416639
View of actuator fully retracted
Retract the actuator fully and ensure that the witness mark is in line with the top of the wiper.
Illustration 12 g03416646
Actuator pin
Extend the actuator and pin to the ladder.
Raise up the ladder until the internal clutch slips.
Pull the release lever to release the ladder. Ladder should release with less than 65 N (15 lb) or less force. Verify with both cab and ground level levers. If levers do not release with less than 65 N (15 lb) of force, the actuator is generating too much force to disengage. If the actuator is generating too much force, lower the ladder, disconnect the actuator, and extend the spherical rod end outward a half turn. Reconnect the actuator, and check the force again. The procedure may need repeated several times until the ladder release force is less than 65 N (15 lb).Note: The force should not be so little that the ladder moves during operation. Up to 25.5 mm
