2. Check the Fuel Pressure at the ARD Fuel Supply
A. Disconnect the ARD fuel line from the pump.
B. Install the FT-3155 Gauge Kit at the pump outlet port.
C. Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Start the engine.
D. Establish communication between Cat ET and the ECM.
E. Select the "Aftertreatment Fuel Pump Relay Override" in order to activate the pump.
F. Override the pump and record the pressure from the pressure gauge.
G. Deactivate the override.
H. Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
I. The pressure must be within specifications. The pump pressure must be 1900 120 kPa (276 17 psi).
1900 120 kPa (276 17 psi)
Result:The pressure measured 1900 120 kPa (276 17 psi).
Proceed to Test Step 6.
Result:The pressure is less than 1900 120 kPa (276 17 psi).
Repair: Replace the primary fuel filter. Proceed to Test Step 3.
Result:The pressure measured 0 kPa (0 psi).
Inspect the wiring at the pump. If the wiring is OK and the pump does not activate, replace the pump cartridge. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS5009.
