Insert 134-3250 Bearing (1) into 134-3243 Saddle Cap Assembly (11) .
Use the following procedure to determine the amount of shims that are needed:
Put 134-3253 Thrust Bearing (3) into the base of the casting. Put the King Post on top of the thrust bearing. Install 134-3255 Shim (7) onto the top of the shaft of 136-6169 Kingpost Assembly (10). Seat the shaft against the radius of the King Post. Make sure that the shaft is seated tightly. Do not install 6V-32493G-5337 Bearing (2) at this time.
Slip 134-3243 Saddle Cap Assembly (11) over the top shaft of the King Post. Slide the saddle cap assembly downward until the cap makes full contact with the Kingpost assembly.

Measure the gap between the top of 134-3255 Shim (7) and the lower edge of 134-3250 Bearing (1). The gap should be 7.0 mm (0.275 inch) to 10.16 mm (0.40 inch). If the measurement is not within the range, check the reference dimensions in order to determine the part that is out of tolerance. Refer to Illustration 2. Install 134-3254 Shims (6) in order to reduce the gap to a dimension that is less than 1.60 mm (0.063 inch).
Remove the Kingpost assembly. Remove the saddle cap assembly with the thrust bearing.
Install 6V-3249 Bearing (2), 134-3253 Thrust Bearing (3), and the appropriate amount of shims.
Install the swing assembly.
Install 136-6169 Kingpost Assembly (10) with 134-4078 Pinion Gear. Make sure that the timing marks are aligned.
Put 134-3243 Saddle Cap Assembly (11) in position. Install 8C-8843 Bolts (4), 8T-4223 Hard Washers (8), and 6V-8190 Nuts (13). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 920 to 1015 N m (680 to 750 lb ft). Install 6K-3632 Locknuts (5). Tighten the locknuts to a torque of 270 67 N m (200 50 lb ft).
Drill and ream the holes for 3Y-6887 Dowels (12). Install 3Y-6887 Dowels (12) so that the dowels are flush with the surface of 134-3243 Saddle Cap Assembly (1) .
Install 3B-8489 Grease Fitting (9). Apply grease to all of the bearings.

Put 134-3243 Saddle Cap Assembly (11) in position. Install 8C-8843 Bolts (4), 8T-4223 Hard Washers (8), and 6V-8190 Nuts (13). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 920 to 1015 N m (680 to 750 lb ft). Install 6K-3632 Locknuts (5). Tighten the locknuts to a torque of 270 67 N m (200 50 lb ft).
