The Special Instruction, "Bench Test Procedure for Bosch Rexroth A4VG HD1 and HDD1 Pumps" provides pump test procedures and specifications while testing a hydraulic pump on a test bench. The technician should have a good understanding of hydraulic piston pumps. The technician should fully understand correct and safe operation of the specific test bench used. The test benches shown and utilized in this procedure are offered by the Caterpillar Service Technology Group. The test benches shown may not hook up the same as the bench that is available at the dealership. All tooling to connect the pump should be gathered prior to pump testing. Some of the required tooling appears in a table at the end of this document. There are many possible variations of tooling that could be used. Not every possible variation can be listed.This special instruction is available through the normal literature distribution system.
