At operating temperature the implement hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.To prevent possible injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes. This helps prevent fluid loss and contamination of the oil system.
Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.
Release system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Release the precharge from the accumulator. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cushion-Hitch Hydraulic System" for information on purging the pressure in the accumulator.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of accumulator (1). The weight of accumulator (1) is approximately 55 kg (121 lb).

Disconnect hose assembly (2) from the bottom of accumulator (1) .

Remove bolts (3) and bracket (4) from accumulator (1) .
Remove accumulator (1). The weight of accumulator (1) is approximately 55 kg (121 lb).
