At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill plug only when the engine is stopped, and the fill plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill plug located on the top of the hydraulic oil tank. 2. Slide rubber boot (1) up on the control lever to gain access to the mounting hardware. 3. Disconnect two wires (4) from the control lever. Loosen setscrew (3), and remove control lever (2). 4. Remove the side cover from the case holding the pilot control valve.5. Put identification marks on five hoses (5) that are connected to the bottom of the pilot control valve. Disconnect the five hoses, and put plugs in them to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system. 6. Remove four bolts (6) and the washers that hold pilot control valve (7) to the case. Remove the pilot control valve. Install the pilot control valve in the reverse order of removal.7. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Start By:a. remove pilot control valve (swing & stick control)b. remove pilot control valve (bucket & boom control) The disassembly and assembly procedure for both pilot control valves (implement) is the same. 1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the pilot control valve prior to disassembly.2. Loosen the setscrew, and remove the lever from the pilot control valve.3. Remove two socket head screws (22), washers (21) and plate (20).4. Remove bushing (18) and O-ring seal (17) from the casing.5. Remove actuator plate (12), joint (13) and plate (14) from the casing.
Put identification marks on the two valve assemblies as they are being removed from the casing. Also, identify each component of the valve assemblies so they can be reinstalled in their original location.
6. Disassemble the valve assemblies. Remove spool (10), washer (9), spring (8) or (25), spring (7), seat (6) or (24) and plug (2) from the casing. Remove shims (5) from seat (6) or (24). Remove rod (4) or (23) from plug (2). Remove seal (1) and O-ring seal (3) from the plug. Assemble the pilot control valves in the reverse order of disassembly. Prior to assembling the valves, be sure all parts of the valves are clean and free of dirt and debris. Put clean hydraulic oil on the internal parts of the valves. Also, check the condition of the O-ring seals and seals. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Tighten joint (13) to a torque of 34 3 N m (25 2 lb ft). Tighten socket head screws (22) to a torque of 29 3 N m (22 2 lb ft).End By:a. install pilot control
