Basic Operation

Profile guidance enables you to excavate a pre-defined profile section with an unlimited number of reach and elevation points, as shown in Illustration 1.Profile mode does not support cab rotation.Selecting A Profile

Refer to the following steps in order to select a Profile from memory.

From any guidance screen, press "Profile".The "Select Profile" dialog appears.
Select a profile. The guidance screen re-appears, and the Bench Required flashing warning message is displayed.Creating And Selecting A New Profile

Press "Create New".The "Profile Definition" dialog appears, with the point of origin of the profile displayed as a green point.

Use any of the following tools to create the new profile:
Press Use Bucket in order to align the current position of the bucket focus to the origin of the profile. You are asked to move the bucket so that the bucket focus is at the origin of the profile you are creating. Then you are asked to press the "OK" key. Cross hairs appear in the Profile Definition dialog's design pane. This is an indication of the current position of the bucket that is relative to the origin. The "Use Bucket" softkey is replaced with the "Point Here" softkey.
When you have aligned the bucket focus with the origin, you can press "Point Here" soft key at any time in order to add a line segment to the profile. A new point appears in the "Profile Definition" dialog's design pane at the current position of the bucket focus.The new point defines a new line segment. The new point and the new line segment are displayed in red, indicating that the point has edit focus.
Press "New Point" at any time in order to add a line segment to the profile. A new point appears in the "Profile Definition" dialog's design pane. The new point defines a new, horizontal, line segment 0.5 m (18 inches) long. Both the new point and the new line segment are displayed in red, indicating that the point has edit focus.
Press the arrow keys on the control box at any time in order to modify the position of the selected point.
Press the forwards and backwards softkeys to move the edit focus forwards and backwards along the profile.
Press "Delete Point" in order to delete the point with edit focus.
