Disconnect harness assembly (1).

Remove bolt (2), crankshaft position sensor (3), and the O-ring seal.Installation Procedure
Install crankshaft position sensor (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 4.5 0.5 N m (40 4 lb in).

Check the air gap if sensor (5), gear case (6) or pulser gear (3) is changed. The Air Gap (X) is changed with different thickness shims (4). The Air Gap (X) should be 0.25 1.40 mm (0.010 0.055 inch).There are 3 shims with the following thicknesses.4A = 0.25mm4B = 0.50 mm4C = 1.00 mmRefer to illustration 3 for the differences in shape between the shims.

Rotate engine to 1TC.

Install Tooling (A) and Tooling (B). Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to measure Protrusion (Y).
Refer to Protrusion (Y) measurement, and use the following table to select the shims.
