Rework Procedure
New O-Rings have been released to production but not yet identified in the parts book referenced for this procedure. Be sure to use the O-Rings identified in the "Parts Needed" secition of this service letter when installing the pumps and assemblies.

Refer to the 988F Parts Manual, SEBP2049-01, pages 21.01 through 21.04 during this rework.
1. Install a new 1241858 Seal-O-Ring on each 1229860 Idler Gear Shaft. Set the shafts aside for 45 minutes to allow the seals to return to their correct size.2. Remove the cap from the hydraulic tank to relieve back pressure. If the hydraulic tank is at or below the full mark, no hydraulic oil needs to be drained.3. Remove the 4E4517 Hood and Guard Group (upper section with gull wing doors) as one unit. A crane with a 6.1 meter (20 foot) boom will be needed.4. Remove both hydraulic pumps. Refer to Parts Manual page 21.01.5. Remove both 4P4975 Power Take Off (PTO) adapters in the 4P3581 Rear Gear Group.6. Remove both 4P4974 PTO Adapter Assemblies/Bearing Assemblies and Gear Assemblies.7. Install a bolt (-20 threads) into the end of the shaft to pull out the bearing assembly and remove the existing 1061541 Idler Gear Shafts (Areas C and D on pages 21.01 and 21.03 in the Parts Manual).8.
