Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi).Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.
The following example describes the air pressures in a normal operating system.
The pressure in air supply line (2) to electric solenoid air valve (6) should always be equal to the pressure of the machine air system. The maximum pressure of the machine air system is approximately 830 kPa (120.0 psi).
There should be no air pressure in air signal line (7) to air regulator (4) until electric solenoid air valve (6) is energized by electronic control (5) or by the Vital Information Management System (VIMS). When electric solenoid air valve (6) energizes, the pressure of the air in air signal line (7) should be 830 kPa (120.0 psi).
8D-4755 Air Regulator (4) limits the air pressure to 380 20 kPa (55.0 3.0 psi) on machines 9YF1-140, and also on machines 9YF151 and 9YF152. This air pressure is supplied to pump assembly (3) and vent valve assembly (9) .
8D-4773 Air Regulator (4) limits the air pressure to 500 20 kPa (73.0 3.0 psi) on machines 9YF141-UP, excluding machines 9YF151 and 9YF152. This air pressure is supplied to pump assembly (3) and vent valve assembly (9) .Note: For machines that are equipped with the VIMS, there is a pressure sensor that monitors the pressure of the machine air system. The actual pressure of the machine air system can be viewed on the message center module for the VIMS. In order to view the pressure of the machine air system, the operator must enter "550" on the keypad for the VIMS. Then, the operator must press the "GUAGE" key that is on the keypad. This will display the actual pressure of the machine air system.Note: For additional information about the VIMS, refer to Service Manual, SENR6059, "Vital Information Management System (VIMS)".
