6. Use tooling (A) to push the collets to the pin with a force of 60 ton (535 kN). 7. Install rod assembly (4), two washers and nut. Tighten the rod assembly to a torque of 1330 150 lb.ft. (1800 200 N m) with tool (D). It is not necessary to do Steps 8 and 9 if tooling (A) was available.8. Install the rod assembly or bolt that holds the collets and pins together.9. Tighten the rod assembly or bolt that holds the pin and collets together as follows: a) Tighten the rod assembly or bolt to a torque of 1330 150 lb.ft. (1800 200 N m) with tool (D). Make sure the distance between the ends of the collets and loader frame are the same for both collets with a hammer to put them in position (seat them). If the torque on the assembly or bolt changes a large amount, the collets were not in position (seated) and it will be necessary to hit the collets again and tighten the rod assembly or bolt again as in Steps b and e.b) Hit the collets until the torque on the rod assembly or bolt is less than 700 lb.ft. (950 N m).c) Tighten the rod assembly or bolt again to a torque of 1330 150 lb.ft. (1800 200 N m) with tool (D).d) Hit the collets again until the torque on the rod assembly or bolt is less than 1180 lb.ft. (1600 N m).e) Last, tighten the rod assembly or bolt to a torque of 1330 150 lb.ft. (1800 200 N m) with tool (D).
The rod assembly or bolt that holds the collets and pin must be tightened again after 50 hours of operation.
10. Connect grease line (5). 11. Put bracket (6) in position and install the three bolts that hold the bracket to the loader frame.12. Make sure the bore in the rod end of the tilt cylinder is in alignment with the bores in the tilt lever. 13. Install pin (7) for the rod end of the tilt cylinder. The right tilt cylinder has one collet with the small thread holes in it. This collet must be installed on the right side of the right tilt lever. These are the threaded holes used to install the holder for the tube assembly. 14. Install collets (8) for the tilt cylinder. If tooling (B) is not available, do Steps 8 and 9 again. 15. Install tooling (B) as shown in the illustration.16. Use tooling (B) to push the collets to the pin with a force of 60 ton (535 kN). 17. Install bolt (10), two washers and the nut. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 1330 150 lb.ft. (1800 200 N m) with tool (D).
The rod assembly or bolt that holds the collets and pins must be tightened again after 50 hours of operation.
