Installation Procedure
Note: Make sure that the bore in the stick, the bores in the link assembly, the bores in the links, the pins, and the O-ring seals are thoroughly clean and free of dirt.
Replace O-ring seals (3) with new O-ring seals.

Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on pin (12). Position the right link and install pin (12). Install the left link.
Align the retaining bolt hole that is in pin (12) with the retaining bolt holes in the left link. Temporarily install retaining bolt (11) and the two nuts (13) .

Fasten a suitable lifting device to link assembly (5). The weight of the link assembly is approximately 47 kg (105 lb). Position the link assembly on the bucket cylinder rod and between the right and left links. Install pin (8) in the links, link assembly and bucket cylinder rod. Align the retaining bolt hole in the pin with the retaining bolt holes in the left link. Temporarily install retaining bolt (7) and two nuts (6) .
Move link assembly (5) until the link assembly makes contact with the left link. Measure the clearance between link assembly (5) and the right link. Record this dimension. Add shims until the clearance between link assembly (5) and the right link is 0.8 mm (.03 inch) maximum.
Remove two nuts (6) and retaining bolt (7). Remove pin (8). Remove link assembly (5) .

Install shim pack (10) that is determined in Step 5. Install the washer and bolt (9) that holds shim pack (10) to the right link.
Position the link assembly on the bucket cylinder rod and between the right and left links. Install pin (8) in the links, link assembly and bucket cylinder rod. Align the retaining bolt hole in the pin with the retaining bolt holes in the left link. Temporarily install retaining bolt (7) and two nuts (6) .

Temporarily install an O-ring seal (3) on each side of the bucket at the bores for pin (2). Lower link assembly (5) into alignment with the bores for pin (2). Make sure that the bores in the bucket are aligned with the bore in the link assembly.
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on pin (2). Install pin (2). Install retaining bolt (4) and two nuts (1). Slide O-ring seals (3) into position over the pin joints between the bucket and the link assembly.

Rotate pin (2) and pin (8) until the retaining bolt hole in each pin is aligned horizontally, as shown.

Tighten retaining nuts (1), (6) and (13), as shown. Tighten the outside nut until the nut is 0.5 mm (.02 inch) beyond the end of the retaining bolt. Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut to a torque of 200 40 N m (150 30 lb ft).
Lubricate the bucket pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
Note: Make sure that the bore in the stick, the bores in the link assembly, the bores in the links, the pins, and the O-ring seals are thoroughly clean and free of dirt.
