Removal Procedure
Start By:
Install the engine lifting brackets. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Lifting Bracket - Remove and Install".Note: For specific information about the installation and removal of commercial isolators, see the literature that is provided by the OEM of the isolators.

Remove bolts (1) and the washers that attach the isolator to the engine support.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the engine lifting brackets. The weight of the engine is approximately 38000 kg (83775 lb). Lift the engine enough to place blocks under the engine for support. Lower the engine onto the blocks.
Remove spacer (2) from the engine support and the isolator.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the isolator. The weight of the isolator is approximately 40 kg (88 lb).
Remove bolts (3) and the washers that attach the isolators to the base. Remove the isolator.
Remove shims (4) from the base.Installation Procedure

Place shims (4) onto the base.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the isolator. The weight of the isolator is approximately 40 kg (88 lb). Lift the isolator into position.
Install bolts (3) and the washers that attach the isolators to the base.
Place spacer (2) between the engine support and the isolator.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the engine lifting brackets. The weight of the engine is approximately 38000 kg (83775 lb). Raise the engine from the blocks. Remove the blocks. Lower the engine onto the isolators.
Install bolts (1) and the washers that attach the isolators to the engine support.
Check the alignment between the engine and the driven equipment. Use the specifications that are provided by these manufacturers: Caterpillar, OEM of the coupling and OEM of the driven equipment.End By: Remove the engine lifting brackets. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Lifting Bracket - Remove and Install".
