SWITCH AS-ROCKER 2712824 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the seat and the floor plates. 2. Remove brake control rod (1) and steering control rod (4).3. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) from the counterbalance valve.4. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from the steering and implement pump. 5. Attach tooling (A) to the top of the cab and to counterbalance valve (5).6. Use tool (B) to remove six bolts (6). Remove counterbalance valve (5) from the steering motor. The weight of the counterbalance valve is 35 kg (77 lb). 7. Remove O-ring seals (7) from counterbalance valve (5). 8. Disassemble counterbalance valve (5) as follows:a. Remove plug (14) from both covers (11).b. Remove four bolts (10), and remove cover (11) and seal (12) from both sides of valve group (13).c. Compress spring (15), and remove ring (8) retainer (9), spring (15) and retainer (17) from stem 16). Repeat on the opposite side of the valve group.d. Remove two plugs (19) from valve group (13). Remove the O-ring seals from the plugs.e. Remove two relief valves (18) from the valve group. 9. Disassemble relief valves (18) as follows:a. Remove O-ring seals (20) and (21) and rings (23) and (24) from valve body.b. Remove cap (26) from screw (25).c. Remove nut (22) and screw (25) from the valve body.d. Remove the two O-ring seals from nut (22). The following steps are for the installation of the counterbalance valve.10. Assemble relief valves (18) as follows:a. Install the two O-ring seals on nut (22).b. Install nut (22) and screw (25) in the valve body. Tighten the nut to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft).c. Install cap (26) on screw (25). Tighten cap to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft).d. Install O-ring seals (20) and (21) and rings (23) and (24) on the valve body. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals and rings.11. Assemble counterbalance valve (5) as follows:a. Install two relief valves (18) in the valve group. Tighten the relief valves to a torque of 100 10 N m (75 7 lb ft).b. Install the O-ring seals on two plugs (19). Install the two plugs in the valve group. Tighten the plugs to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft).c. Install retainer (17), spring (15), and retainer (9) on stem (16). Compress spring (15), and install ring (8). Repeat on the opposite side of the valve group.d. Install seal (12) in cover (11). Position cover (11) on the valve group, and install four bolts (10). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 280 30 N m (210 22 lb ft). Repeat on the opposite side of the valve group.e. Install plug (14) in both covers (11). Tighten the plugs to a torque of 9 2 N m (80 18 lb in).12. Install O-ring seals (7) in counterbalance valve (5).13. Use tooling (A) to position counterbalance valve (5) on the steering motor, and install six bolts
