Remove the oil coolers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Coolers - Remove". Note: This is the TYPICAL procedure for the disassembly of the oil coolers.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: Newer oil temperature regulator housings have a longer outlet.
Remove oil temperature regulator housing (1).

Remove oil cooler bonnet (2) and the gaskets.

Remove supports (3) for the oil cooler.

Mark the position of each oil cooler core in the support. Fasten a suitable lifting device to each oil cooler core (4). Remove the oil cooler cores from the support. Each oil cooler core weighs approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
