Leakage
When the pump is at the low idle setting, the pressure will cycle between the cut-in pressure and the cutoff pressure. The cycle should occur in approximately 30 seconds. If this cycle occurs in less than 30 seconds, there is leakage in the system that must be corrected.

To locate the cause of the excessive leakage, shut down the engine with the engine shutdown control or disconnect electrical cable (11) from the wiring harness. Do not shut down the engine with the ignition key. The engine shutdown switch is located on the right side of the machine near the right side ladder. Listen for a hissing noise to determine the location of the leak.
Check for a hissing noise from steering solenoid (12) .
Check for a hissing noise from steering relief valve (13) .Note: Before any compartments are removed, make sure that the steering accumulators have been fully discharged.
If no leak was found, check the spool of the cutoff valve in the accumulator charging valve for sticking.
Replace the damaged component.
If electrical cable (11) was disconnected, connect the cable.
Start the engine. Allow the steering accumulators to charge fully.Note: Allow the charge cycle for the steering accumulators to occur at least ten times before any measurements are made.
Check the cycle time. Repeat the procedure, if necessary.Pressure Compensator Valve

If the steering system pressure could not be adjusted in the previous procedures, an adjustment of the pressure compensator valve may be required.
